Trucking Insurance · Same-Day Quotes
Most trucking quotes go out the day the submission is complete — some in about an hour, depending on the type of operation — in California, Arizona and 26 more states (New York and New Jersey quote slower). Here is what we need from you and how fast each kind of risk quotes.
"Same day" is not a slogan here; it is how the office runs — and it is the same in 28 of the 30 states we are licensed in, not only California — New York and New Jersey are the two where the markets simply quote slower, and we say so up front. Trucking is 99% of what we insure, the person who answers the phone is the person who quotes, and we are open 7am to 7pm seven days a week. When a submission arrives complete, most owner-operator, box-truck and new-venture quotes go out the same day — some in about an hour, depending on the type of operation. What slows a quote down is never the broker; it is a missing VIN, a license photo we cannot read, or a loss run nobody asked the old carrier for.
Carriers price on facts. To quote the same day we need the DOT number (we pull the company, address and authority from FMCSA), the 17-digit VIN of every truck and trailer and what each is worth, a photo of every driver's license (MVRs are run the same day), years in business, radius, what you haul, and — if you have had coverage before — your current certificate and loss runs. The quote form walks through exactly that in nine short steps, and the decode buttons tell you on the spot whether a VIN or DOT number is right.
New ventures with one to three trucks, owner-operators, box trucks and straight trucks, dump trucks, tow trucks, local and regional dry van and reefer with clean records. Complete submission in by early afternoon, numbers back before the end of the day on most of them.
Fleets of five or more units, operations with claims, hazmat, oversize and anything that goes to several underwriters who each read the loss runs. We tell you the timeline when the submission lands, and we chase it.
Uber Black, limo, shuttle and NEMT — livery carriers quote on their own schedule. We file the CPUC (TCP) certificates once you bind. Start the passenger quote →
The deepest markets we have are for box trucks and straight trucks, semi trucks and tractor-trailers, fleets and new ventures in California, with reefer, dump and tow close behind. Cargo vans and hotshot auto haulers we will quote, but every state's market for them is thin right now: expect fewer options, higher minimum premiums and bigger down payments, and we would rather tell you that before you spend an afternoon on the form than after.
When you say yes, the rest happens the same day too: the application signed electronically, the down payment taken — premium finance or a carrier pay plan, whichever makes the first payment easiest — the BMC-91 / MCS-90 and California MCP or CPUC filings requested, and your certificate portal live, so the first COI goes to your broker before the end of the day. That is the standard with most of our companies; where a carrier needs a day for the filing, we tell you before you bind.
Because we quote what you told us and we check it. The DOT decode confirms the authority and the address, the VIN decode confirms the unit, the MVR confirms the driver, and the loss runs confirm the history, so the number you see is the number you bind — not a teaser that changes when the underwriter finally reads the file.
On most owner-operator, box-truck and new-venture trucking risks, yes — in California, Arizona and 28 of the 30 states we are licensed in (New York and New Jersey quote slower) — when the submission is complete: DOT number, every VIN, every driver's license, radius, commodity and (if you have had coverage) loss runs. Some come back in about an hour depending on the type of operation; fleets take two to seven days.
Missing information, almost always: a VIN that will not decode, a license photo that cannot be read, no loss runs from the prior carrier, or a commodity that needs an underwriter's referral (hazmat, oversize, high-theft cargo). Claims and fleets also take longer because more people read the file.
Yes. We are open 7am–7pm Pacific seven days a week, and a submission that comes in Saturday morning is worked Saturday. Some carriers' underwriters are weekday-only, so a weekend quote may be bound Monday — but the work starts the same day.
Often, yes — once the application is signed, the down payment is made and any filings are requested, a new venture can be bound and have its certificate the same day. Federal filings (BMC-91 / MCS-90) go in the day we bind.
No. Speed comes from a complete submission and a broker who quotes trucking all day, not from skipping steps. We take the same file to several carriers at once, so a same-day quote is still a comparison, not one number and a shrug.
Yes. Same-day quotes are how we work in 28 of the 30 states we are licensed in — Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Georgia and the rest. New York and New Jersey are the exceptions: we write there, but the markets quote in days, not hours. The carriers, the filings and the certificate portal are the same everywhere; only the garaging address changes.
